Risperdal Consta: componenten Alaris SmartSite bereidingsadaptor Een Needle-Pro toedieningsnaald 20G met veiligheidskap Een voorgevulde spuit met 2 ml verdunningsmiddel Flesje met Risperdal Consta poeder The RISPERDAL® CONSTATM pack contains the vial of microspheres, a syringe of diluent, a SmartSite® Needle-Free Vial Access Device, and one Needle-Pro® administration needle. The Needle-Pro® needle is designed with a wide bore and thin walls to allow a free flow of the suspended RISPERDAL® CONSTATM. Needle-Pro® needles are manufactured solely for RISPERDAL® CONSTATM and are not commercially available elsewhere. The Needle-Pro® cannula is 2 inches long, to ensure deep intramuscular injection for the gluteal site, and is the usual needle length for this purpose. The thin wall, as well as the siliconised cannula, is designed to avoid injection pain. Because of this, all the parts of the kit have to be used for the injection. Indien deze koude keten langer dan 15’ onderbroken werd dient de spuit gegeven te worden binnen de 7 dagen De ambulante patiënt wordt best aangeraden zijn voorschrift niet onmiddellijk af te halen maar het pas af te halen de dag van de inspuiting tot maximum 7 dagen voor de inspuiting. Zo vormt het al dan niet correct bewaard worden in de koelkast geen probleem. Als verpleegkundige bespreek je dit uiteraard goed met de patiënt voor deze op ontslag gaat. Zorg ervoor dat hij adequaat is voorbereid, m.a.w. : dat hij is ingelicht dat hij akkoord is dat hij echt klaar staat vooraleer u begint met de bereiding. Risperdal Consta: bereiding stap 4 injectiespuit witte dop Open de spuit door de verzegeling van de witte dop te verbreken en verwijder de witte dop samen met het rubberen napje binnenin. Bevestig de spuit met oplosmiddel aan de SmartSite® flacon-adaptor door de tip in de opening (de blauwe cirkel) van de adaptor te duwen. Draai de spuit in uurwerkzin totdat hij degelijk bevestigd is. Belet dat het flesje meedraait door deze tegen te houden.

Resuspension of Risperdal Consta will be necessary prior to administration as settling will occur over time once the product is reconstituted. Shake vigorously for as long as it takes to resuspend.

Risperdal Consta: bereiding stap 7 Schud nu het flesje krachtig (rollen tussen handpalmen is onvoldoende) gedurende 30 seconden. Houd de zuiger hierbij volledig ingedrukt met de duim. Het mengen is voltooid wanneer de suspensie er homogeen, dik en melkachtig van kleur uitziet, en wanneer alle poeder volledig is verdund. Risperdal Consta : Reconstitution step 5 Before shaking the vial, attach the second Hypoint needle with an easy clockwise twisting motion to the luer connection of the syringe. Do not remove the sheath from the needle at this stage. Shake the vial vigorously for at least 10 seconds. Mixing is complete when the suspension appears uniform, thick, and milky in colour, and all the microspheres are fully dispersed. Do not store the vial after reconstitution or the suspension may settle. If left for even a short time, shake the vial again until the powder and diluent are properly mixed.

Risperdal Consta: bereiding stap 8 Houd het flesje volledig ondersteboven en zuig de suspensie langzaam uit het flesje op in de spuit. Verwijder de spuit van de adaptor door zachtjes te trekken en de spuit tegen uurwerkzin te draaien. Gooi het flesje met de adapter weg. Risperdal Consta : Reconstitution step 6 Take the syringe and pull the sheath away from the needle. Do not twist. Insert the needle into the upright vial. Slowly withdraw the suspension from the vial in an upright position (as indicated) to ensure that the entire content is drawn up into the syringe. Withdraw the syringe with the needle from the vial. Unscrew the needle from the syringe and discard appropriately.

Risperdal Consta: bereiding stap 9 ‘blister’ -zakje Trek het ‘blister’-zakje van de toedieningsnaald tot halverwege open. Pak met het plastic zakje de beschermhuls vast. Schroef de toedieningsnaald op de Luer-verbinding van de spuit. Risperdal Consta : Reconstitution step 7 Peel the blister pouch of the Needle-Pro device open half way. Grasp the sheath using the plastic peel pouch and attach with an easy clockwise twisting motion to the syringe. Label the syringe using the peel off section from the vial. This is to clearly identify the reconstituted dose.

Risperdal Consta: toediening stap 2 Needle-Pro veiligheidskap Trek de beschermhuls recht van de naald. De beschermhuls niet draaien aangezien de naald kan loskomen van de spuit. Beklop de spuit zacht. Verwijder luchtbelletjes uit het lichaam van de spuit (purgeren). Risperdal Consta : Administration step 2 Pull sheath away from the needle. Do not twist sheath as needle may be loosened from Needle-Pro devise. Tap the syringe gently. Remove any air bubbles from the syringe barrel. Inject the entire content of the syringe intramuscularly into the gluteal muscle of the patient.

Risperdal Consta: toediening stap 3 Injecteer de gehele inhoud van de spuit intramusculair. Geprefereerde plek : bovenste buitenste kwadrant bilspier. Injecteren over 10 tot 15 seconden, niet "zo snel mogelijk" noch "zo traag mogelijk"

Risperdal Consta: toediening stap 4 Vlakke ondergrond Druk de naald – na toediening van de injectie – met één hand in de Needle-Pro veiligheidskap (druk zachtjes tegen een plat oppervlak). Controleer visueel of de naald helemaal vastzit in de veiligheidskap, en verwijder de spuit mét naald dan onmiddellijk op correcte wijze.
