2 Wat is een edit-a-thon?

3 Een edit-a-thon is een (klein) evenement waar mensen samenkomen en werken aan Wikipedia- artikelen over een bepaald onderwerp. Vaak worden edit-a-thons georganiseerd voor relatieve beginners op Wikipedia, maar dat hoeft niet, en ze worden ook vaak gehouden bij een of andere organisatie.

4 Why run an edit-a-thon? It helps build the encyclopedia It builds relationships in the community It is an opportunity for editors to learn from each other It can convince people to become new Wikipedians It can help new Wikipedians to contribute It is an opportunity to improve the quality of Wikipedia by accessing offline materials and experts It's fun!
