Clothing Good walking shoes (lots of walking in NY) Clothing (remember it will be colder in NY approx. 16 degrees and that in air-conditioned rooms in Florida it can be cold) clothing in airplane: layering Clothing – dress code T-shirt/polo shirt with school logo and……… Take pen and paper and a book to read should the teacher not have work for you to do – pupils are attending school for the week we are there
Luggage Info 1 case of 158 cm per case (length-width-height) – 23 kilo – Do not lock your case or put expensive items in it. Extra suitcase/bag will cost approximately cost $100 or more. Hand baggage 55 x 35 x 25 cm 18 kilo – read the instructions carefully as to what you can take (as far as liquids etc. are concerned, so no fluids, gel or deo in hand luggage) Pupils are responsible for what they take (expensive items not recommended) – youth hostel NY
Money Money in America (spending money for food when with host family may or may not be needed??) Check with your bank if you can withdraw money abroad, i.e. in America: BLOCKED PASSES FOR OUTSIDE EUROPE
Present for host family Stroop wafels Liquorice Dutch things; they love Dutch things Cheeses, meat and flower bulbs are not recommended. If you do bring them, don’t tell customs.

Say NO Code of behavior: no alcohol – no drugs the law is different in America and that must be respected, they are much stricter, and it will cause tremendous problems.
