Met betrekking tot de bijverschijnselen is de gecombineerde pil met gestodene efficiënter dan de gecombineerde pil met desogestrel. Met betrekking tot de cycle controle is de gecombineerde pil met desogestrel net zo efficiënt als de gecombineerde pil met gestodene.
