7 Verplicht banken om voldoende buffers aan te houden voor deze risico’s. De hoogte van deze buffers hangt af van: 1.Het risico van het OTC instrument 2.De kwaliteit van de tegenpartij en de bank 3.De methode van handelen (bilateraal of via een zogenaamde centrale tegenpartij) Hoe beheers je deze risico’s?

8 De buffers voor OTC contracten worden verhoogd Een aantal partijen worden verplicht om te handelen via een Centrale Tegenpartij. Afhankelijk van de positie dienen deze partijen hiervoor buffers (initial margin en variation margin) aan te houden. Collateral vereisten voor bilaterale partijen staan onder discussie om de zekerheden verder te versterken. Wat verandert er in 2013?

9 Banken zullen voor hun OTC trades (nog) meer aandacht besteden aan de kapitaalconsequenties. Hogere kapitaaleisen kunnen resulteren in hogere kosten, die in potentie tot hogere kosten voor de klant kunnen leiden. Collateral beheer wordt steeds belangrijker. Is een klant in staat om voldoende middelen ter beschikking te hebben om aan de (nieuwe) collateral vereisten te voldoen? Is er voldoende aanbod van kwalitatief goed collateral? Wat zijn de consequenties?
