WAT IS IHE? IHE is een wereldwijd initiatief van professionals uit de zorg en leveranciers uit de industrie om de manier waarop ICT systemen uit de zorg informatie uitwisselen en delen te verbeteren intramuraal, transmuraal, regionaal, nationaal “user-led, vendor-driven” IHE propageert het gecoördineerd gebruik van wereldstandaarden zoals bijv. DICOM, HL7, CCOW om specifieke zorgbehoeften te adresseren, ter ondersteuning van een optimale patiëntenzorg Systemen ontwikkeld in overeenstemming met IHE communiceren beter met elkaar, zijn gemakkelijker te implementeren en stellen zorginstellingen in staat om informatie effectiever te gebruiken Integrating the Healthcare Enterprise
