3 Impact Factor Calculation for journal impact factor:

4 Waarom publiceren in high IF journal
Prestige: De JIF bepaalt niet de invloed of kwaliteit van een individueel artikel, en zelfs niet direct de kwaliteit van een tijdschrift. Het bepaalt wel het prestige en de invloed van een tijdschrift. Hoe toonaangevender een tijdschrift, des te hoger meestal de kwaliteitseisen, dus indirect kan het wel iets zeggen over de kwaliteit van een artikel. Uit: EUR Citaties Hoge IF is gebaseerd op aantal citaties. Andersom is niet altijd waar: “je krijgt meer citaties als je in tijdschrift met hoge IF publiceert”. Zichtbaarheid De hoogste IF tijdschriften zijn interdisciplinair, een mogelijkheid om je onderzoek bekend te maken buiten je strikte vakgebied. ???
