The Rotary Foundation helps fund our humanitarian activities, from local service projects to global initiatives. Your club or district can apply for grants from the Foundation to invest in projects and provide scholarships. The Foundation also leads the charge on worldwide Rotary campaigns such as eradicating polio and promoting peace. Rotarians and friends of Rotary support the Foundation’s work through voluntary contributions. TRF Seminar 14 maart 2015

Vrede en Conflictbeheersing Gezondheid van moeder en kind Preventie en behandeling van ziekten Basisonderwijs en alfabetisering Dit is een goed overzicht van zinvolle focus. Maar je kan zien dat je daar heel veel “in kan stoppen”, m.a.w. het is zelfs moeilijk om een project te vinden dat niet één of meer focusgebieden ondersteunt. Soorten Grants: District Grants Global Grant Grants ondersteunen: Humanitaire projecten Scholarships Vocational Training Teams DISTRICT GRANTS District grants fund smaller, short-term activities that address needs in your community and communities worldwide. Each Rotary district gets to choose which projects it will fund with these grants. GLOBAL GRANTS Global grants support large international activities that have sustainable, measurable outcomes in one or more of our areas of focus. Rotarians create their own projects and carry them out. We accept and review applications as they arrive. PACKAGED GRANTS Packaged grants are designed by Rotary and our strategic partners. They fund activities that are similar to those for global grants, but the work of designing the activity’s general framework has already been done. TRF Seminar 14 maart 2015

4/9/2017 Nieuw: Ideas.rotary.org Betrek je omgeving! Vervangt Rotary.org will have a crowdsourcing tool that allows clubs to seek resources for projects – but not only financial resources. Our idea platform will let a club specify what kinds of financial, volunteer and in-kind contributions they require. Clubs can also seek partners; particularly useful if they’re planning a global grant or other international service project. TRF Seminar 14 maart 2015 27

29 CROWD SOURCING: SEEK RESOURCES FOR YOUR PROJECT
4/9/2017 CROWD SOURCING: SEEK RESOURCES FOR YOUR PROJECT Rotarian and Rotaractor club leaders can post projects seeking resources. If their projects directly benefit TRF and the projects have been approved by staff, those projects will be featured on the public site. Projects seeking partners or volunteers but not funds can also be featured on the public site. If the (example) Mountain Gorilla Trackers wanted to raised funds for TRF – for example, 1 USD for every gorilla sighted – then they can set up the project accordingly. In most cases, contributions to club projects will not be eligible for tax receipting and recognition. Projects submitted to the new Idea Platform will need to be vetted by a TRF before they are posted. This is to sort out Rotary club funded projects and those that are being funded through global or district grants therefore receiving a world fund match from TRF. Global and district grant projects can still be included on the site for fundraising purposes but only after the grant has been approved by the Regional Grant Officer at TRF. RI and TRF staff will work together to review these project proposals. I have added Kristin Brown to this so that she can correct me if I misstated anything.

4/9/2017 PORTABLE PROJECT “GADGET” FOR A CLUB’S WEBSITE Club projects can be featured locally on the individual Rotary or Rotaract club website as well as shared via Facebook, Twitter and other social channels. This sample project seeking support for the local library has so far received 5% of the financial contributions sought, 50% of the volunteer time, 27% of in-kind contributions and 3x the connections they requested. Let’s look at the details.

33 ROTARY SHOWCASE UPDATE
12 maart 2015) Finally, clubs can share stories of project milestones or successes on Rotary Showcase, our first venture into welcoming user-generated content. Since we launched the tool at the convention in 2012 in Bangkok, clubs have posted more than 3000 projects in more than 100 countries. In April we added the Impact Tracker, which presents the aggregate impact of all projects posted since 1 July 2012. In program 2014-until 12 March 2015 a total of projects were listed. Rotary Showcase is now fully integrated into Rotary Club Central.

Voor Global Grants, moeten clubs: een “MOU” ondertekenen (tenminste) één lid van de club naar het (District) Grants Management Seminar Aan eventuele andere District voorwaarden voldoen: o.m. bijdragen aan TRF Annual Fund, minimaal $ 50 pp/jr opnemen in SHOWCASE In D 1550 óók voor District Grants Districts are responsible for qualifying their clubs each year. To qualify, clubs must: Agree to implement the club MOU Send at least one member to a grant management seminar organized by the district. Complete additional requirements specified by the district.
