Always to and from the A.S. !!  No unnecessary duplication of A.S. : get the data – even in the midst of the business-proces- from the A.S., if possible ;  Copies (of A.S.’s) are allowed, but there should be no confusion as to which source is leading or ‘dominant’ ;  A.S.’s are to be distributed via SOA-principle Goal = to provide access (for external clients) to A.S.’s through basic services & composite services

Henry Ford-anecdote)  Orthodoxy within the service-layer ! SOA is easy ; consequent & maintained SOA isn’t ;  Quality of the A.S. = crucial ;  New Belgian privacy-approach ? Need for data-integrators, « trusted parties » (eg CORVE) to help build service-‘intelligence’ ; S.A. cannot cope with all the applicative requests => intermediate brokers with special Privacy- status  Local government is the first point of contact of the citizens, but they have the least people and resources available ; Quid ?  Budget : S.O.A.-platform charges are the same, whether you serve 10 or 100 clients/applications (cf. airplane-costs)  => Return on Investment !! => comfortable Time-horizon ( 3 to 5 years )
