Middels IM kan overleg binnen de organisatie plaats hebben. Ambtenaar krijgt taken/werkzaamheden op zijn persoonlijke portal. De overheid eist dat informatie via een portaal digitaal aan de burger aan geboden wordt. Daarbij moet het mogelijk zijn een percentage van de aanvragen digitaal te verwerken vanuit dit portaal. Met behulp van Microsoft Solutions is deze service voor de burger gebouwd. Middels het gebruik van Sharepoint, OCS, BI en Workflow is het mogelijk het proces te monitoren, efficiente communicatie en voor de burger de status van de aanvraag digitaal te volgen, 25
