Effect of renal function on prognosis already present in mild renal failure Aanschouwen we het effect van de baseline nierfunctie mbv survival curves dan zien we een duidelijk onderscheid tussen de verschillende kwartielen. Ligt de drie jaars overlevings kans bij patienten met een nierfunctie boven de 76 ml/min nog rond de 75% procent voor de andere patienten categorieen daalt deze dramatisch van 65%, 55% en tenslotte 35% voor de groep met een berekende nierfunctie < 44 ml/min. Met andere woorden de hoogte van de baseline nierfunctie bepaalt in belangrijke mate de sterfte bij hartfalen. Gaan wij nu over naar de vragen die wij ons stelden over de prognostische betekenis van de baseline nierfunctie voor het ontwikkelen van hartfalen na het het infarct .
