2 Bijvoeglijke naamwoorden geven aan wat iets of
iemand is. Ze staan vóór het zelfstandig naamwoord: That is a beautiful flower. Sandra is a careful girl. Casper is a terrible singer.

3 Bijwoorden geven aan hoe iets gedaan wordt of
gebeurt. Ze staan meestal achter het werkwoord. Bijwoord = bijvoeglijk naamwoord + -ly They dance beautifully. I had to do it carefully. Let op! Soms verandert de spelling: -le → -ly terrible – terribly -ic → + ally fantastic – fantastically medeklinker + y → -ily easy – easily

4 Een bijwoord kan ook iets zeggen over een bijvoeglijk
naamwoord. That car was extremely dirty. That book was terribly boring. Een bijwoord kan ook iets zeggen over een ander bijwoord. The band played really loudly. She talked awfully slowly.

long long Let op! Na de werkwoorden to be, to taste, to look, to feel en to sound krijg je geen bijwoord, maar een bijvoeglijk naamwoord. That music sounds good. This house looks old.
