SAS Regular SCSI: Max 320MB/second 68 pins flat cables (~twisted pair) 640MB/second ~difficult to achieve Serial Developments: IBM, early 1990s: Serial Attached Architecture (SSA) ~never a big succes. Fibre Channel; expensive. FireWire: subset of the SCSI standard, mainly used for consumer electronics.
