2 What are we talking about?
CPOE conference Cluj, 2017 What are we talking about? What is ownership? What is PME? Who is in charge over the organisation / projects? You? Beneficiaries? Partners? Procces of Planning, Monitoring, Evaluation > Proposals, reports etc. Includes: What is the problem? Which project will be most suitable? What is the opinion of the beneficiaries? What are our aims? Etc. Deze sheet eerst confirmeren. Zijn deze begrippen bekend? Wie werkt er met rapportages e.d.? Is er behoefte aan extra uitleg?? >> Handen opsteken. Indien bekend, doorgaan naar de andere sheets. Zo niet, even kort de begrippen toelichten. Voorbeeld bij ownership: je krijgt € aangeboden voor een project met Roma. Eigenlijk wil je als kerk helemaal niet met Roma werken, maar heb je liever fondsen om je kerkgebouw uit te breiden. Maar daar is geen geld voor beschikbaar bij deze organisatie. Wat doe je? > als je niet dezelfde doelen hebt, accepteer je dan het geld!?

CPOE conference Cluj, 2017 Introduction | Problem Statement PME (planning, monitoring and evaluation) often considered as ‘bureaucracy’, ‘workload’ and ‘a headache’, sometimes experienced as ‘controle’ Western organisations are sometimes rigid: strict deadlines, every organisation has own formats, etc. Malov: ‘good PME can be a disguise for disfunctioning organistation’; Leventhe: ‘but love without discernment is blind’ PME seems to undermine ownership. But: it can be a powerfull quality management tool to strenghten ownership.

Hoe sterk ben je ontwikkeld (proffessionalisering / organisatieontwikkeling) en hoeveel ownership ervaar je? Daar even op doorpraten. E.g. een aantal (opvallende) stickers om korte toelichting vragen. (Daarna komt de vraag: is er iemand die ervaren heeft dat toen je opschoof op de horizontale lijn, je ook (daardoor) op de verticale lijn groeide?) Leads us to the next statement.

Do you agree OR disagree? write 1 (or 2) arguments in keywords paste them on the wall (3 minutes) Met andere woorden: When you invest in improving the quality of your organisation (e.g. PME), ownership will also become stronger. Ownership and independence are stronger in high-quality organisations. When you grow on the horizontal ax, you will also grow on the vertical ax. Individuele opdracht. Ben je het eens of oneens? Schrijf op een groene OF een rode kaart je argument(en) en plak ze onder de stelling (flap). Plenair: Kort (aantal) resultaten bespreken. Hoe gaan we om met mensen die het oneens zijn?: We willen vandaag vooral focussen op de toekomst – niet op wat er allemaal mis gaat, maar op hoe kunnen we het beter gaan doen / voorbeelden van hoe het wél werkt. De bijbel roept ons er duidelijk toe op om, voor Gods aangezicht verantwoording af te leggen aan elkaar en naar Hem. (How can quality be improved?) How did PME help you (or your partners) to improve ownership? (Can you give an example / best practice?) What kind of advice about strenghtening your organisation (or PME) would you like to receive from others? Write down your question. 2. Group assignment – 15 minutes: Pair-up with 1 or 2 others (after your own choice). Discuss your advices and questions. Post your answers at the wall. 3. Short group discussion/conclusion – 10 minutes.
