4 The Canary died last Friday and we are the only ones who know it. The Canary, a.k.a., the Buy/Sell Ratio, BSR, is an early but reliable indicator that the "blast off" phase of this rally is over. It died when the Price of the VectorVest Composite went up last Friday and the BSR went down. Mr. Brian D'Amico gave an excellent explanation of this phenomenon in Monday's Color Guard Report. So it was no surprise that the Price of the VectorVest Composite fell $0.36 per share over the last five trading days and closed the week at $35.64 per share. The Primary Wave turned to Dn on Tuesday, April 5th, and the BSR closed the week at 3.76, down 0.82 points. Although our key Market Timing Indicators, the RT, BSR and MTI, are still at healthy levels, they are all down since last Friday. Given this information, I would not pour a lot of money into stocks at this time. With three yellow lights and a DnUp situation, the Color Guard is Neutral. Prudent Investors should not buy stocks until the Primary Wave turns to Up. Aggressive Investors and Traders should play the market with a bias to the Downside.
