8 “Could one of your staff please explain to me why, at the end of your commentary on Ronson and at least one place on this site elsewhere, you show concern for the psychopaths of the community and "their unfortunate victims". Is this the professional stance of your society that victimization is inherent in psychopathy? As someone who looks at the PCL-R and sees himself summed up on paper (and that predates Ronson's book on the matter), this does not sit well with me whatsoever. I appreciate the research done by Dr. Hare, but some of us learn a version of empathy. I'd like to think that the only person I "victimize" is my girlfriend for having to deal with me on a daily basis. I'd assume I'm not some anomaly among psychopaths, and I assume I am a psychopath according to the checklist, (so if I am wrong disregard me) but the assumption that there are victims for every psychopath is disrespectful if I understand correctly.
