4 When to use an Adjective?
ADJECTIVE (bijv. nwd) It provides extra information about a NOUN (Bij een zelfstandig naamwoord) Example: Het boek (mooi) = het mooie boek The book (beautiful) = the beautiful book

5 When to use an Adverb? ADVERB (bijwoord) With a VERB (werkwoord)
Het boek is mooi geschreven The book is beautifully written With an ADJECTIVE This beautiful book This extremely beautiful book With another ADVERB The book is very beautifully written

6 Hoe maak/herken je ze? Y i = easy  easily
Het bijwoord (ADVERB) wordt gevormd door –LY achter het bijvoeglijk naamwoord (ADJECTIVE) te zetten Wild  wildly Y i = easy  easily E valt weg = terrible  terribly Good – well Fast – fast

7 Grammar: Adjectives & Adverbs: De uitzonderingen
Deze bijvoeglijk naamwoorden veranderen niet van vorm Fast Hard Far Weekly Low Long Much Monthly High Wrong Little Late Straight Deep Daily Near Als je deze verandert, betekent het iets anders Late (laat) Lately (onlangs) Near (dichtbij) Nearly (bijna) seem; appear etc. krijgen een adjective omdat die op het onderwerp slaat en niet op het werkwoord: Mary seemed sad (sad gaat over Mary, niet over seem) Deze ww krijgen een adjective ipv adverb – gaat om staat van zijn, niet om een actie! Be Seem Appear Look Sound Taste Feel smell

She sings … My father drives … The girl listened … He cooks … I can speak English very … She is a … girl This is a … book She looks …
